Dr. Rajan Mahtani Receives Prestigious International Award By Forbes


Dr. Rajan Mahtani was recently recognised by the international business community for his contributions towards Zambian society and economy. One of the most anticipated and important business events across Africa, the FIN Philanthropy and Leadership roundtable conference, was held on 6th August 2021. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic that has gripped the entire world, the event was held online. However, this did not deterred honorary speakers from sharing their thoughts, ideas and passion during the event. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was one of the honorary speakers during the event.

One of the major highlights of the Forbes-FIN (Foreign Investment Network) conference was the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards ceremony. Forbes, in partnership with FIN, presents the ‘Best of Africa’ awards on a annual basis. This award ceremony is generally held at New York during the United National conference or UNGA meetings. This year’s award ceremony was held online. The objective of this award is to recognise and celebrate the business personalities with records of building and creating important global businesses with positive and far-reaching contributions 7 impact within the African continent. The critical award identifies leading personalities from politics, innovation, business and economy across Africa. The awards hold special significance as the awardees are selected after significant research, thorough verifications and interview exercises by both Forbes and FIN. Mark Furlong, the Customs Solutions President at Forbes, officiated the award ceremony and also presented the awardees with the prestigious awards.

Dr. Rajan Mahtani was recognised by Forbes for his significant contributions towards redefining the banking & financial sector of Zambia. As such, Forbes presented Dr. Rajan Mahtani with the prestigious ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the year’ award 2021. While personalities and leaders were selected for the award from all over Africa, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was the only one from Zambia to receive this award. Dr. Rajan Mahtani’s economic and business contributions across Zambian provinces has been unique. He is also noted for his philanthropic contributions including Prison Fellowship Zambia and Stephen Malama award for law graduates.
