Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was not only invited to the Forbes-FIN philanthropic contributions as a honorary speaker, he was also selected as one of the recipients of the prestigious Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards. The Forbes-FIN (Foreign Investment Limited) is an annual business event which invites businesses, visionaries and entrepreneurs from across Africa to take part in a corporate event focussed on philanthropy and leadership and its importance on the growth and development of the African nation. Usually, the Forbes—FIN event is held at New York annually, coinciding with the annual UNGA meetings. However, this year’s Forbes-FIN annual event was held online as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the event was broadcasted using YouTube medium.
The Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards is one of the most prestigious and looked upon awards in Africa. The awardees are selected based on their significant and long-term contributions in the field of philanthropy and leadership towards growth and development of African nation. The award is highly regarded and valued due to the fact that it is developed and given by Forbes, which is one of the top business magazines across the globe. Also, the process of selecting the awardees is extremely rigorous, comprising of months of verification processes and background checks along with interviews with the potential awardees regarding their views on philanthropy and leadership.
Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, after accepting the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ 2021 award, gracefully thanked almighty god for his support and strength especially during challenges and roadblocks.
