Despite working in a country with high crime rate, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has been able to maintain a transparent and ethical reputation for himself. Recently, Dr. Rajan Mahtani’s name was unethically and illegally embroiled in a negative reputation campaign. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is known for his transparent yet strong networking relationships with several notable personalities in Zambia. One of them was late ex-President of Zambia. Levy Mwanawasa. Dr. Mahtani’s relationship with Levy Mwanawasa is known to everyone as it started even before Levy Mwanawasa become the President of Zambia. Despite the untimely death of the late Ex-President, Dr. Rajan Mahtani had maintained a positive and warm relationship with the Mwanawasa family. As such, it was extremely shocking and disappointing news when it was found that Miriam Mwanawasa shared a negative post about Dr. Rajan Mahtani. Miriam Mwanawasa is the daughter of the late ex-President and recently posted a post a controversial claim in the social media channel Facebook. In her post, Miriam Mwanawasa claimed that Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani intended to inherit the farmland at Masaiti which is owned by the Mwanawasa family. However, Miriam did not share any evidence or proof to support her claim.

Dr. Rajan Mahtani generally ignored such nonsensical claims but since it was coming from the Mwanawasa family which has been a long family friend. Dr. Rajan Mahtani decided that it would be appropriate to clarify the rumours. As such, Dr. Rajan Mahtani released a press statement in which he clarified that he made no such claims or requests to the Mwanawasa family. In his press release, Dr. Rajan Mahtani also confirmed that he had maintained a long-standing and transparent business and personal relationship with Levy Mwanawasa. As such, it was malicious and ludicrous of Miriam to post such claims without any backing. Lack of evidence or any further claims or posts by Miriam Mwanawasa in her own defence also indicated that foul play. As such, Dr. Mahtani also said that he will be taking strict actions against this unethical, malicious and ludicrous post.
