With 2022 coming to an end, it is time to be thankful to all the good fortunes despite the adversities faced as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Dr. Rajan Mahtani, a noted businessman and philanthropist from Zambia, has been thankful for all the opportunities as well as challenges presented to him. The Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference is an annual conference held in Africa. The conference is held in conjunction with the UNGA in New York. The latest Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference was held in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). However, last year’s Forbes-FIN roundtable conference was held virtually to comply with the Covid-19 restrictions. Furthermore, the event was broadcasted across the globe via YouTube medium and members participated in the event from their respective locations. For the year 2021, Dr.Rajan Mahtani was invited in this Forbes-FIN philanthropy and roundtable conference as an honorary speaker and discussed the significance of healthcare leadership. Apart from this, Dr.Rajan Mahtani was also recognized for his business and philanthropic contributions. Forbes recognized the significant contributions made by Dr. Rajan Mahtani in the field of philanthropy and conferred him with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2021. Dr.Rajan Mahtani accepted this award humbly and thanked Almighty God as well as his teams for their significant contributions. Apart from his banking contributions, Dr. Mahtani was also recognized for his philanthropic contributions to Zambia and its people. Two of his significant and long-standing contributions have been the Stephen Malama award and scholarship for top law graduates in Zambia as well as Prison Fellowship Zambia.

Dr. Rajan Mahtani led Prison Fellowship Zambia was recently in news for pledging full support towards the decision of the Zambian President to abolish the death penalty law. Supporting the President’s statement, Dr. Mahtani stated that the death penalty is inhumane, degrading, and cruel and his company Prison Fellowship will provide full legal and regulatory support to ensure that the announcement becomes a reality soon.
