Media house Daily Mail shares philanthropic contributions from Dr. Rajan Mahtani


In spite of the different difficulties confronted, Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani has stayed committed towards the government assistance of Zambian state. One of these contributions in the field of education was Steven Malama award which was established in the year 2012 and given for the first time in 2013. Since then, the award is given to the top graduating student from the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education. The award was established in memory of late Steven Malala, a good friend of Dr. Mahtani and a visionary in the field of law. Late Steven Malama is regarded for his significant contributions in the field of law and legal education. His consistent persuasion of the Zambian Government resulted in the merger of two distinct bars, the Solicitor’s Bar and the Registrar’s bar. Merger of these bar was really helpful for legal graduates in achieving bar affiliations in a rightful manner and establish their careers.

For the year 2018-19, the honour was given to Emmanuel Bwalya Kaluba.
