Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony was recently concluded in Africa. It was a part of the Forbes-FIN (Foreign Investment Limited) philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference event. The FIN event took place virtually to comply with the ongoing Cobid-19 pandemic and the award ceremony too took place online. The award ceremony was broadcasted across the globe across YouTube medium. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a celebrated, respected, and regarded businessman from Zambia was one of the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards recipients. Before that, Dr. Mahtani was invited to the Forbes-FIN roundtable conference as an honorary speaker and discussed the significance of leadership in healthcare.
Forbes recognized the contributions made by Dr. Rajan Mahtani over the years and conferred him with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021. Dr. Mahtani was recognized for his contributions towards redefining the banking sector of Zambia. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani gracefully accepted the award. He thanked Almighty God for his support and strength during both good times and bad times. He said that he was born again Christian and believes Jesus Christ as his Executive Officer. He also thanked his team and commended them for their excellent work towards carrying out major responsibilities as well as ensuring success across the majority of his business ventures.
Dr. Mahtani is the owner of several successful companies across Zambia and Africa. Two of these companies are Mahtani Group of Companies and Finsbury Investment. His company Mahtani Group has transformed itself into one of the biggest conglomerates across the globe. The company has expanded to several sectors including mining, insurance, agriculture, energy, real estate, and many more. Similarly, Dr. Mahtani has made several philanthropic and charitable contributions for which he was finally recognized. Dr. Mahtani founded the Prison Fellowship Zambia which is a program aimed towards justice and welfare of the inmates. Similarly, Dr. Rajan Mahtani established the Stephen Malama award and scholarship for top law graduates in Zambia.
