Dr. Rajan Mahtani

Forbes is one of the top business magazines across the globe. Forbes recently conducted the annual Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a noted businessman and philanthropist from Zambia, was selected for one of the Forbes awards. The Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony was held during the annual Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference. The conference was held virtually as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. However, the conference saw participation from several members from different backgrounds. Some of them included members from international business communities, entrepreneurs, visionaries, spiritual, opinion, and religious leaders, political leaders, international investors as well as media partners. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was also invited to this event as an honorary speaker.

The Forbes-FIN (Foreign Investment Network) was an astounding success despite being held virtually for the first time. One of the reasons for its success, popularity, and anticipation was the inclusion of the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards ceremony. The awards are given by Forbes itself which increases its value. Furthermore, the awardees are selected after months of verification processes, background checks as well as interviews and discussions with the recipients to understand their viewpoint and long-term contributions towards philanthropy as a means to achieve empowerment across the African nation. Overall, the awards are of high value and provide significant global recognition to the recipients.

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, apart from being invited to the event as an honorary speaker, was also considered for one of the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards. Dr. Mahtani was conferred with Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021 for his significant contributions towards redefining the banking sector of Zambia. Apart from these business contributions, Dr. Mahtani was also recognized for his philanthropic and charitable contributions. Some of these contributions include founding the Prison Fellowship Zambia as well as the Stephen Malama award and scholarship for top law graduates in Zambia. He humbly accepted the award and said that he will continue to work towards the betterment of the Zambian nation and its people.
