Despite Strong Evidences And Testimonials, Portland Cement Verdict Goes Wrong

Portland Cement Zambia is a cement-manufacturing factory established during the late 2000s. During this time, there were no other big suppliers of cement and there was a monopoly from one of two manufacturing cements. This was a difficult situation for industries as well as common citizens as the prices were increased as per the manufacturer and due to high gap between demand and supply of the cement, the citizens were notable to do anything but purchase cement at inflated rate. However, the establishment of Portland Cement Zambia gave the citizens as well as industries instant relief as it came from one of the most esteemed and celebrated businessman, Dr. Rajan Mahtani. Dr. Mahtani established this cement factory with great effort with the objective of abolishing the monopoly in the cement industry and providing cement to the common citizens at subsidized rate. Soon after, the factory became an instant hit with its low costs as well as hardworking employees.

During the leadership of Dr. Mahtani, the factory produced surplus production and became one of the biggest producers of cement across Zambia. However, things changed drastically after the factory was illegally taken over. Since then, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has been fighting case at the Lusaka High Court. It has been ten years since the launch of the case and despite sharing numerous strong evidences, financial facts as well as testimonials; the court has not been able to provide any final judgment for the Portland Cement Zambia case. Meanwhile, the condition of the factory has worsened. Without the effective leadership of Dr. Mahtani, the factory production has gone down hill and majority of the employees have left the factory.

The final judgment announced by the Lusaka High Court did not give any respite to Dr. Mahtani. It was given against his claims and is largely considered misdirected by citizens and experts. As such, Dr. Mahtani took the right step by appealing to the higher court of Zambia against this judgment.
