Forbes Connect in Africa recently conferred its most prestigious and notable business awards in Africa. It was the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony. Dr. Rajan Mahtani, who is known as one of the most respected and noted businessperson in Zambia, was selected for one of the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards. The awards are presented to the leading lights in the field of business and philanthropy. The awardees for the ceremony are selected by both Forbes and FIN, after rigorous yet transparent selection process. The process comprises of months of verification process and background checks. This is followed by interviews and discussions with the potential awardees to understand their viewpoints and long-term commitment towards philanthropy as a means to achieve long-term empowerment of the Zambian nation. Forbes recognised the contributions of Dr. Rajan Mahtani towards redefining the banking sector of Zambia and conferred him with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021.
The Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards were presented during the annual Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference. This is a yearly conference which invited leading personalities and visionaries across Africa to participate and discuss about the significance and practical implications of philanthropy and leadership. The roundtable conference is among the most anticipated and regarded business events in Africa. It is held annually at New York. However, this year’s roundtable conference was held online as a result of the ongoing covid-19 pandemic. The FIN roundtable conference saw participation from members from diverse backgrounds and communities, including members from international business communities, spiritual leaders, political leaders, opinion leaders, entrepreneurs, businessmen, visionaries, international investors as well as media partners. The FIN roundtable conference was also a platform for generating investments, capital, and funds for ongoing and future projects across Africa. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was also invited in this event as an honorary speaker and discussed about the significance of leadership in healthcare. Overall, the business conference and the award ceremony were a successful event.
