Forbes along with FIN (Foreign Investment Network) recently conducted the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony. This award ceremony is conducted by Forbes, one of the top business magazines across the globe. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a noted businessman and philanthropist from Zambia, was presented with one of the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards. The awards are given to those with significant investments and long-term commitment towards philanthropy. The awardees for the ceremony are selected by both Forbes and FIN, after rigorous yet transparent selection process. The process comprises of months of verification process and background checks. This is followed by interviews and discussions with the potential awardees to understand their viewpoints and long-term commitment towards philanthropy as a means to achieve long-term empowerment of the Zambian nation. Forbes recognised the significant contributions made by Dr. Rajan Mahtani towards redefining the banking sector of Zambia and conferred him with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021. Dr. Rajan Mahtani accepted the award in a graceful and humble manner. He thanked Almighty God for his support and strength during good times as well as during tough times. He also thanked his team for their support and motivation that helped in the success of his projects.
The Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards were presented during the annual Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference. This is a yearly conference which invited leading personalities and visionaries across Africa to participate and discuss about the significance and practical implications of philanthropy and leadership. The roundtable conference is among the most anticipated and regarded business events in Africa. It is held annually at New York. However, this year’s roundtable conference was held online as a result of the ongoing covid-19 pandemic. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was also invited in this event as an honorary speaker and discussed about the significance of leadership in healthcare. Several other members participated in this event to make it a successful one, despite attending virtually from their respective positions.
