Unethical Facebook Post Sparks Rumour Against Dr. Mahtani, Press Statement Released In Response

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is no doubt one of the most honest, ethical and straightforward businessperson in Zambia. Despite working in a nation filled with corrupt officials and rampant unethical practices, Dr. Mahtani has been able achieve a niche for himself with successful business ventures. Some of his top companies are Finsbury Investments, Mahtani Group of Companies and Finance Bank Zambia.

A recent Facebook post started outrage among media and individuals as it was targeted against a specific business person, Dr. Rajan Mahtani. This Facebook post was shared by late ex-President Levy Mwanawasa’s daughter Miriam Mwanawasa. In her Facebook post, Miriam claimed that Dr. Rajan Mahtani was trying to capture the family property owned by the Mwanawasa family at the Masaiti district. It is a known fact that Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani has a long-standing relationship with late Levy Mwanawasa even before his taking over as the President of Zambia. This friendship remained strong during his term as well as after he stepped down from the position. At the same time, Dr. Rajan Mahtani kept this friendship extremely transparent with no incidents of foul play, power grabbing or politics.

As a result, this ludicrous Facebook post by the daughter of the late ex-President was questioned by many. It was more so because of the lack of evidences or any form of authenticity in the Facebook post. It was clear that the post was shared in the social media platform with the objective of maligning the image of an honest and ethical businessmen or worse, for some vested interest. After learning about this post, Dr. Rajan Mahtani surely was disappointed as he lost friendship with one of his oldest friends in Zambia.

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani has, as of now, released a press statement in which he condemned this action for being malicious, ludicrous and having no basis or sense. Dr. Rajan Mahtani has also confirmed of taking appropriate actions against this malicious act.
